Nick is CEO and Founder of NquiringMinds, an award winning Technology Company specialising in the areas of IOT, Security and Data Analytics.
Prior to that Nick spent 10 years in the Mobile Industry. As CTO for WAC (Wholesale Application Community Ltd), he helped set up a $30 million a cross operator industry initiative to create a web application wholesaling operation. This followed a stint as CTO of OMTP (Open Mobile Terminal Platform Ltd) mobile, where many influential industry initiatives were borne, including the universal charging interface, and trusted environment specifications.
Nick has worked both for and on behalf of Venture Capital. As CTO of the $40 million start-up fastmobile, he helped see this advanced communications company through to successful acquisition by RIM. Before this he was at Motorola’s European Internet division, looking after gaming, messaging and voice recognition platforms.
A broad technologist at heart, earlier industry experience covers, gaming, data warehousing, engineering, oil, publishing and consultancy having held various executive and consultancy positions at Shell, Pearson Group, Dorling Kindersley and Neural Computer Sciences.
A strong advocate of open source, Nick helped set up and is Director of the Webinos Foundation.
Nick has a Degree in Cognitive Science from Nottingham University, and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. He is an Advisory Board Member for VisionMobile and a Member of TechUKs CTO Council

Anita specialises in the Marketing of advanced technologies, previously she was Corporate Marketing Manager for Roke Manor Research (Siemens) where she implemented the marketing and communications strategy and Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
Before Roke Anita was a Director at Corporata Communications where she ran Marketing projects for a number of high profile clients, including the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Anita has long standing experience of the financial services sector through her work with PWC (Price Waterhouse Coopers) and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants). Anita has a large body of published work including business plan, speeches, government consultation responses, executive reports, magazine and newspaper articles, academic papers.
Anita was the winner of a national competition on management writing which granted a full scholarship to attain her Executive MBA from Henley Management College (2005-2008), awarded by the Financial Mail on Sunday. Anita has a BA in economics from Nottingham University.

Dr Paddy Byers is a senior and highly respected technologist with a wealth of embedded software development, leadership and consultancy experience. Paddy has broad technical knowledge gained from 35 years of practical software development and particular expertise in mobile platforms and runtimes, web technology and web services, and security. He has successfully led large teams to deliver complex software projects. Paddy has held CTO and executive director roles for the last 20 years, both in startup environments and large corporations, that have also included responsibility for business development, technology evangelism and IP strategy. Paddy is still an active contributor in a number of open source projects.

Toby is a developer with over 15 years experience building apps for desktop, web, and mobile using C++ and C#, .NET and all web technologies. Toby has worked in various fields, including mobile application platforms (webinos, BONDI), configuration and calibration of control units and wind tunnels in the motorsport industry (Pi Research), robotics and automation control software (Sanger Institute), equity and derivatives risk management software (Citigroup) and 3D interface design and development at Dorling Kindersley Multimedia.

Dr Alexandru Mereacre has a wide experience in developing software and hardware for automotive, security and medical device applications. Alexandru has designed for a number of years high precision measuring devices for automotive and gas industries. He has also worked in the material testing industry where he designed algorithms that analyse the failure of pressure vessels, building structures and pipes.
Alexandru has degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He also has a PhD in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He worked a number of years for Oxford University as a researcher in formal methods and model-based design of medical devices.

As a Software Developer the majority of Ivan’s work has focused on developing code for a variety of applications across many different platforms, with experience programming in C, Java, Assembly, VHDL and nodejs. Ivan has experience deploying and maintaining servers for both development environments and public facing websites. At university he studied hardware as well as software, developing his understanding of the synergies between the two domains. Ivan has a Masters in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Nottingham.

Hannah is an environmental and data specialist with experience gained over 20 years working in consultancy. Prior to joining nquiringminds Hannah worked for a number of large consultancies managing environmental impact assessments for development planning. Varied roles have included developing and researching novel sensors for gas monitoring, mathematical modelling of atmospheric pollution, and air quality monitoring and assessment.

 Hannah is a Chartered Scientist and Chartered Environmentalist and has a BSc in Physics from Nottingham University.

Alois is a computer scientist and researcher, specialising in embedded device development and Artificial Intelligence. He has worked on a broad range of projects, from computer vision to robotics and network protocols. Alois is particularly interested in the development of Machine Learning and has implemented several state-of-the-art algorithms. Alois holds a Masters in Electronic Engineering and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Southampton.
